Information collected

When you send an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, message, and any optional phone number, organization, location, artwork interest, or project details you provide. We also record the source page, submission time, privacy acknowledgement, and limited technical information used for security and spam screening. Please include only information needed for your inquiry.

If a private artwork selection gallery is prepared for you, we may keep your name, contact details, the works shared with you, and your selections, comments, and responses. Private links are intended for their recipients; anyone you share a link with may be able to use it.

If you receive a private document or curriculum vitae link, we may record the recipient details, link expiry, and when the link is viewed or downloaded to manage access and delivery.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and any name or preferences you choose to provide. We keep subscription, confirmation, consent, delivery, and unsubscribe records. If you enable engagement tracking, an image in the email and tracked links record newsletter opens and clicks associated with your subscription, including the issue, link, time, IP address, and browser information. Email software can affect the accuracy of these records.

The website and its hosting infrastructure may record IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, timestamps, and errors to operate the site, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.

How it is used

We use personal information to answer inquiries, discuss and arrange artwork purchases or projects, provide requested private galleries and documents, administer newsletter subscriptions, maintain business records, and protect the website. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for these purposes.

Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Subscriptions made through this website require email confirmation. Subscribers may also be added using documented existing consent. Newsletter messages include an unsubscribe link. Optional engagement tracking helps us understand which newsletter content is useful. We do not sell or rent personal information or subscriber lists.

Service providers

Service providers may process information for website hosting, storage, email delivery, maintenance, and security. They receive information needed for their work. Depending on the provider, information may be processed or stored outside Canada and may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that country. Information may also be disclosed where required or permitted by law.

When spam protection is enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks whether a form submission comes from a person and processes technical information such as IP address and browser signals. Akismet, operated by Automattic, screens inquiry and private-gallery response submissions; it may receive your name, email address, message, IP address, browser information, source page, and submission time. These services are used for abuse prevention.

Cookies and links

We use aggregated server log counts to understand requests for public pages. These summaries do not include IP addresses or full query strings, and they do not use analytics cookies or a visitor-tracking script. Server logs may also contain referring addresses and are used for site operation and security.

The website uses cookies needed for secure forms, sign-in, and remembered security choices. You can control cookies in your browser, although blocking them may prevent some features from working. This policy covers Clara Kim Art; external websites linked from this site have their own privacy practices.

Retention and protection

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably needed for correspondence, requested services, business records, security, consent evidence, and legal obligations. Unsubscribing stops newsletter delivery; a limited suppression and consent record may remain to respect your choice. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymized, subject to legal requirements and normal backup cycles.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including restricted access and protected administration, to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No website, email service, or method of storage can guarantee complete security.

Your choices

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, raise a concern, or withdraw consent to a use of your information. You may also request deletion, subject to legal and legitimate recordkeeping requirements. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Withdrawing consent may affect services that depend on that information.

Use the preferences link in a newsletter to change your details, interests, or engagement tracking choice, or use its unsubscribe link to stop newsletters. Turning tracking off affects future newsletters; earlier messages may still contain tracking images or links, and earlier records are not automatically erased.
